M.R Carey’s novel, The Girl with all the gifts is not your normal Zombie movie.   A post-apocalyptic story follows the life of young teen Melanie. Confined to a secure cell Melanie waits every morning for armed guards to arrive to take her to class. It is there that she starts to form an attachment to one of her young teachers. When the secure base comes under attack, Melanie, her teacher, guard and her doctor escape. The characters are powerful and their reactions to Melanie heart-breaking. Give this book a go, even if you are not normally a horror genre reader.
